Dear Mappers,

This week we would like to let you know that the functionality to report Road Closures, Construction and Events has been updated in Map Creator (MC) and launched in Mobile Map Creator (MMC).

1. Updates in MC
To access the menu, select the affected road segment and click on the red button that appears attached right side of the Road attributes menu.

It opens the Report Closures, Construction, Events menu, and there you will find out several options (check image) such as:

• Direction – for now option A B is just showing on the first link selected and then it disappears. It will be fixed soon.
• Add or remove incident – to add a new one or delete an existing one.
• Type of incident – to select if it is a construction (traffic can still pass by) or a closure.
• Reason – to select if it is a road work, an event, an accident, other type or unknown for the case where you cannot categorize
• Closure period – to set up the start and end date of the closure
• Source – very import to speed up the implementation of the closure: here you should copy paste the link to the news, website, or other support where you find out the information
• Additional information – if you want to report something additional. 

Click on the Report road closure and the report will be visible on the screen.

When you access the Road Closures menu automatically it is displayed all the road closures available in your working area – check image below. Here you can check if there is already a Road Closure information in order for you to avoid double and superfluous effort.

These icons are being removed after the end date of the closure or after a while.

2. Launch in MMC 
To access the menu, select one road , then click next and click on the text after the Red Icon as shown on the image below.

It opens the Report Closures, Construction, Events menu, and there you will find out several options (check image) such as:

• Type of incident – to select if it is a construction (traffic can still pass) or a closure.
• Reason – to select if it is a road work, an event, an accident, other type or unknown for the case where you cannot categorize
• Direction of travel – to give the direction to which the report applies (A is always the southern end of the link).
• Period – to set up the start and end date of the closure
• Add Photo – very import to speed up the implementation of the closure: here you can upload a photo of the construction warning sign or something else as an indicator of the closure/construction

Click on the Done and the report will be sent either straight ahead (if automatic upload is set) or later on (e.g. at home in WiFi network).
