Places in Map Creator: New Covid-19 related attributes

Dear Readers,

We hope you are all safe and healthy during this challenging period! 🙏 While majority of us is working or staying at home, we still need to go out and visit some places to buy some food, medicine, or any other things we use every day. Therefore, it is important to stay up to date with the opening hours of a place, type or payment and any other importation that can be useful for us all.

We are happy to announce that new attributes in Map Creator have been released to help collect additional Place/POI information related to the Covid-19 lockdown.

  • You can find the additional attributes Map Creator by selecting a place (e.g. supermarket). Additional features are visible in an orange box named “Corona information”.
  • The type and number of attributes are dependent of the Place category. Also not all place categories will show the additional attributes

Help us all with providing your local knowledge and update this information in Map Creator! 😊

Changes on COVID-19 attributes will not be counted as map edits. What is interesting for you to know is that the data collected will be stored in a separate XYZ layer and can be used for developers for additional apps, NGO’s or later for additional products.

Also, we would like to remind you about our #stayathome challenge that runs till the end of this month! Provide edits and have a chance to receive a voucher! 😃

Thank you in advance and stay safe and healthy!
