We hope you are doing fine!

In this hard time of COVID-19, many of us sit at home and try to entertain each other.

As we don’t want you to be upset about it, we came up with an idea to create a CHALLENGE and prepare some AWARDS for our Benelux community!

📣 So we are happy to launch the #stayathome challenge! 😊 We want to keep you busy and engaged! 😁

What, when?

The #stayathome challenge starts today 3rd of April and ends 31st of April (23:59 CET) and focuses on providing information via the crowd-sourcing tool called Map Creator. Just register/log in for free and start!

What it is about?

The idea is simple:

Verifying Places/POI’s – Map Alerts

We are all affected by the COVID-19, also people living in Brussels area. Let’s help them by verifying *Places/POI’s, in Map Creator by solving Map Alerts!

But first you need to:

• register/login in Map Creator first
• if you are already logged in Map Creator…

To display Map Alerts for this challenge, click in left top corner and under “Your stuff” you will find “Campaign List”. There you should be able to find Map Alerts for this challenge! See the picture below.

If you are in stage of not knowing what Map Alerts are, read our article about Map Alerts here and familiarize yourself!

How does a Map Alerts look like for this challenge? After familiarizing yourself with Map Alerts article, go to Map Alerts, read carefully the task, by checking information displayed in Map Alert and solve the Map Alerts! See the image below.

How can I verify these Places/POI’s?

We can imagine that not everyone lives in Brussels area, if you don’t live there, you can use:

• Mapillary imagery ( check here how to use Mapillary in Map Creator)
• A source you can find online (most preferably direct website of a Place/POI) and

  use Your Geospace to download data and check/update the situations when necessary. Here you can find our blog article about how to use Your Geospace.

Editing Places/POI’s

If you prefer to only focus on providing just edits somewhere within your area, we ask you kindly to provide edits in Map Creator related to Places/POI’s that you find relevant during the COVID-19 period, but also after the quarantine period.  The Places/POI’s we would like to to focus on are:

• hospitals
• medical centers
• pharmacies
• health facilities

The idea would be to check attributes such as:

• place name
• place category
• accessibility (wheelchair accessibility)
• opening hours
• contact information

The more detailed you are, the better! 😊

As in case of Map Alerts, again, in order to support your edits, feel free to search for open data online and use Your Geospace to download data and check/update the situations when necessary.

What can I get?

We believe that by staying at home we can all #giveback and share the knowledge we possess about the places around us. Thus, by updating this information in Map Creator,  either in form of solving Map Alerts or just edits, you spread awareness and help people, who are searching for help during this difficult time.

Of course we would like to reward you for your efforts, so TOP 3 CONTRIBUTORS in Benelux community, who will solve the most Map Alerts or make the highest amount of edits in Map Creator from 3rd  – 30th APRIL will receive –> BOL.COM VOUCHER! 🤩🤩
