Dear Mappers,

We have a new attribute category in the Map Creator: Road closures⛔️

Here you can enter the information to indicate that a road segment is currently closed, f.ex. due to construction activities. This data will be directed to and help our Live Traffic team to show in the navigation systems with HERE maps that have Live Traffic included where roads are closed and cannot be used for actual routing.

Please fill in the closure period (from-until), the affected direction and give a reason for the closure (if possible please provide an URL as a source).

You can see if a road is already indicated as closed please use the new layer “Road Closure Report” in the layer menu (top right) and zoom into the map. By hoovering with the mouse over the construction icon you see the closed street segment. By clicking on the icon you see the closure details.

Please note that this feature has been added to Map Creator but is still in the testing phase. Any feedback is welcome!  😃

Currently also a multi-link selection has been enabled! Finally it is possible to select multiple segments by pressing Shift + left mouse button.

Update 12/11:

Meanwhile it is guaranteed that the Road Closure input via the Map Creator remains visible on the map (please activate the layer in the menu). After an input you have to refresh the map briefly (e.g. via F5). The information is no longer visible in the fields under Road Closures after sending the report, as this is a pure reporting function and the report has already been sent to the Live Traffic Team.

In the picture you can see how it looks like. This is the situation in the MC as long as it is not yet integrated in the Traffic System and cannot yet be seen in WeGo under “Traffic”.
